By joining the Kinkelder Group, Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd has combined its forces with Kinkelder Laser Cutting Technology Ltd at Zevenaar on January 1st 2004; technologically a supplier that is widely oriented in the field of sheet iron work (parts) and parts from tube, shaft and profile. Because of this, there is also a supply for processing laser cutting, water jet cutting, punching, punching & nibbling, squaring and setting within the own group.
Kinkelder Laser Cutting Technology has a modern production facility in which a large automated sheet metal stockroom of specialist Stopa is the central point. In this stockroom a large variety of economy-size sheet metal material is kept in stock. With the assistance of robots and set up around the stockroom, five Bystronic flatbed laser cutting machines, two Bystronic water jets and a Trumpf Trumatic 6000 L punch-nibble-laser combi-machine are loaded. In addition to this, Kinkelder Laser Cutting Technology has the disposal of several square banks and a unique Trumpf Tubematic laser cutting machine for tube, shaft and profile.

Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd will soon possess the certificate ISO 3834-2 (renewed version of EN 729).
What does ISO 3834-2 certified mean?
ISO 3834 refers to the quality assurance standard for fusion welding of metals. This standard consists of three different levels; Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd is certified for the most extensive level: ISO 3834-2.
The certification means that we, under the authority of our welding co-ordinator and according to approved procedures, work with qualified welders. ISO 3834-2 is a proof of quality for our entire welding organization: from order acceptance, care of non-destructive investigation (NDO), description of the welding method (WPS, LMB), qualification of the welding method (WPO, LMK), management of added materials for welding, maintenance welding machinery, the education and qualification of welders, visual investigation of the welding (EN 970), material traceability to product purchase. In this way the quality of your product is safeguarded.
Why ISO 3834-2?
For a large period of time Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd has been familiar with the systems that are aiming to safeguard the quality of the organization, our products and service. For this Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd is (among other things) ISO 9001 : 2000 certified. However, this standard is not applicable to welding technical activities. The fact is that the quality of welding can only be judged after manufacturing. Welding is a ‘special process’.
To reach a quality assurance system for welding, the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and the European Committee for Standardization (CEN/Comité Européen de Normalisation) have cooperated to develop a special standard system. This standard is known as the ISO 3834-2 and is the most extensive class for the certification of welding technical activities.
With the ISO 3834-2 standard and by means of procedures, work instructions and inspections it is possible to reach a quality assurance system for all welding activities that have to be performed. The Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd quality system is, according to ISO 3834-2, described in the Ommeren Metal Technology Ltd quality handbook welding.
